Webster Works Worldwide

Students, staff and faculty members participate in community life through the University's annual service day. By mass volunteerism, the University demonstrates its participation in its communities around the globe.

Partnerships

The University forges community links by forming innovative partnerships with corporations, community arts organizations, schools, agencies, and other institutions. For example:

  • The University shares facilities, faculty, staff and technical personnel with the internationally-known Opera Theatre of Saint Louis and the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis. Both present performances in the University's Loretto-Hilton Center for the Performing Arts in St. Louis.
  • Partnerships with clinical hospitals and health care organizations make Webster's M.S. degree program in Nurse Anesthesia possible.
  • Students working with Koplar Communications serve as a creative team for developing potential concepts for television programming.
  • Webster offers on-site education to employees of the Boeing, AT&T, General American Life Insurance Co., Anheuser-Busch Companies Inc., Walt Disney World and others.
  • Webster's School of Education works with many individual schools and school districts to provide teacher training and teacher education and to introduce reforms in the teaching of children with disabilities.
  • The 3-2 Engineering Program allows students to pursue a dual-degree program with Washington University in St. Louis by completing a B.A. or B.S. at Webster University in a major of their choice and then earning a B.S. in Engineering from Washington University.
  • Webster joins with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra to offer an on-campus community music school, a conductor training program and a master's degree in orchestral performance.
  • The University offers management training seminars to Electrolux Corporation managers in 10 European countries, and it participates in marketing projects with Chrysler Corp. in Vienna.
  • The Community Artist Training Institute at Webster University's Old Post Office campus trains artists and social work professionals to bring the arts to a variety of "at-risk" environments as an incentive for social change.
  • Unite 2000 is a partnership with the Webster Groves School District to develop a community-based program for a safe and drug-free school and community.
