The Student Employment Program is designed to help students meet educational expenses through meaningful employment. Career Services assists students in finding part-time student employment positions. Student employment at Webster is divided into four different programs:
- Federal Work Study recipients may work either on campus or in an approved community service site. Students may work at non-profit agencies or schools that have the funds to pay the student employees 25% of their total earnings (if/when billed by the University). Students must be enrolled at least half-time at the University to retain their award over the course of the academic year. Program dates: July 1-June 30.
- Webster Work Study is awarded to students to work in a variety of jobs on-campus only. Students must be enrolled at least half-time at the University to retain their award over the course of the academic year. Program dates: June 1-May 31.
- International Webster Work Study is awarded to a small number of international students annually, as a recruitment tool for incoming freshmen. International students are awarded a set dollar amount to earn over the course of the year and additional funds are not available. This funding is a subset of Webster Work Study, but does not require international students to complete and submit a financial aid application. Program dates: June 1-May 31.
- Budget Student Employment is available to current students, regardless of financial need. The hiring department funds the position directly, so appeals for an increase in award amount must be made to the hiring supervisor and not the Financial Aid Office. Program dates: June 1-May 31.
