Appointments
It is important that you, as a job seeker, take personal responsibility for your scheduled appointments.
• If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, please CALL Career Services at 314-968-6982.
• It is expected that you arrive on time for your appointment. Students who are more than 15 minutes late may have to reschedule their appointment.
Career Events
This includes Career Fairs, Information Sessions, or any program sponsored by Career Services:
• Attendees should dress and conduct themselves in a professional manner.
• When attending Career Fairs, only accept give-aways after speaking with a representative from a company of interest.
• Friends and family members who are not Webster University students should not accompany the student to the events.
My Career Connection Privacy Policy
Webster University Career Services is committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information. The Career Services office contracts with NACElink Network to provide Webster University students/alumni with My Career Connection. The NACElink website is owned and operated by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). Through My Career Connection, students/alumni are able to post resumes, view and apply for jobs, and schedule on-campus interviews.
By registering with My Career Connection, students/alumni data may be used in reports developed for internal institutional studies. The information in a candidate’s profile is used by Career Services for job-search advising, promoting programs and services, notifying candidates of employment opportunities, and referring qualified candidates to employers. Please refer to the NACElink Privacy Policy for details.
Career Services does not endorse any employer and urges students to use good judgment in all of their interactions with employers. Please note that jobs posted in My Career Connection may or may not be reviewed prior to being posted. Users are encouraged to use caution and common sense when applying for positions. Do not disclose social security numbers, credit card information or bank account numbers to unknown employers. Job seekers should never spend their money on employment opportunities.
Students/alumni should report any questionable recruitment practices by employers to the Career Services office.
On-Campus Recruiting (OCR)
Participation in on-campus interviews:
• You Must be either a current student or an alumni of Webster University.
• Candidates should thoroughly read the job description in My Career Connection (MCC) to ensure that they meet the minimum criteria.
• Candidates are expected to prepare for interviews in advance and conduct themselves in a professional manner. This includes having your resume reviewed by a Career Services staff member and conducting a mock interview.
• Interviewees are expected to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to their scheduled interview time.
• Interviewees should dress and conduct themselves in a professional manner.
• Friends and family members who are not Webster University students who should Not accompany the student to the interview.
• No Shows-Candidates who do not CALL the Career Services office at least 24 hours in advance will be blocked from accessing MCC for one academic semester, will not be eligible to participate in on-campus interviews for one academic semester, and will be required to write a formal letter of apology to the interviewer(s) and cc the Assistant Director of Employment Services before gaining full privileges to participate in OCR again.
• If a student has already accepted an offer with an employer, he/she must, in good faith, withdraw from the interview process.
