  • recommend policies and procedures to the Administrative Council for their approval,
  • facilitate broad-based communication and input into the strategic use of and directions for all web and e-services across the university.

Specific objectives are:

  • To serve a general oversight role in the management of the Webster University web site and related e-services; to serve as a resource in determining the strategic directions for web and e-services at the university; to recommend changes and strategies for future growth and directions of web and e-services.
  • To advise Information Technology on directions and services that are needed and to review, analyze and make recommendations for the allocation of University resources in support of developing and delivering web and internet-delivered e-services.
  • To periodically review the available web development and delivery tools supported by the university (including components of a university-wide portal), assess their capability and fit relative to all of the functional needs of the university, and recommend changes as appropriate and needed.
  • To recommend means and procedures to coordinate web-related information management activities of the university within and across all academic, administrative, and support units of the university.
  • To collaboratively develop and coordinate visual design guidelines to ensure continuity of presentation and branding as appropriate:
    • to ensure that all guidelines are developed with interdisciplinary input and that they allow for creative presentation of diverse interests and services across the university community
    • to clearly define the levels of Webster University web sites/services to which these guidelines will apply;
    • to coordinate the application of these guidelines with the functional design implementations developed by IT Web Services.
  • To create initial draft policies and procedures pertaining to web site governance and the use of e-services; to ensure that all related policies and guidelines are consistent with the goals and objectives of the University
  • To address major questions, concerns, and issues of the university community as they relate to web/internet policies and regulations; to review non-routine requests for use of the web or internet-delivered services
