Advertising Students Win Regional Competition

For the third year in a row, and the fifth time in eight years, Webster University students in the Advertising Campaign Production class have won first place in the region in the American Advertising Federation's (AAF) annual collegiate competition. The team will compete against the other regional winners at the AAF's annual conference in Atlanta in June. Among the other schools competing in our region were Creighton University, St. Louis University, Drake University, University of Nebraska-Omaha as well as other Midwestern colleges and universities.

As part of the competition, the AAF invites a prominent corporation to submit a case study to advertising students around the country.

This year's client was AOL. Beginning in the Fall semester, the students conducted exhaustive research for the campaign. During the spring semester, they used their findings to develop a complete campaign strategy and tactics to meet the client's goals.  Dr. Nancy Wilson, associate professor of advertising, taught the campaign production class in the spring while Susan Seymour, Associate Professor, and Jamie Rule, a member of our adjunct faculty, taught the two sections of Advertising Research in the fall.
