Webster University Faculty Composers’ Concert Showcases Wide Range of New Compositions

What/Who:           

The Webster University Faculty Composers Concert features the original compositions of Robert Chamberlin, Robert Howard, John Thomas, Kendall Stallings and Duane Bridges. The compositions represent a wide range of musical genres and styles.

“Introduction, Tuba Mirum and Vocalise” by Robert Chamberlin (performed by Robert Chamberlin and Webster student Angie Dinkelman)

“Sonata for Piano” by Robert Howard (performed by Webster student Michael McElvain)

“Sonata for Clarinet and Piano” by John Thomas (featuring Jeanine York-Garesche and Vera Parkin)

Three pieces by Kendall Stallings: “Variations for String Trio,” “Three Play Four” (for clarinet, violin and piano) and “Lagniappe” (for string quartet featuring Paul Huppert, Joe Kaminsky, Laura Reycraft and Ranya Iqbal)

A choral work by Duane Bridges featuring the Nerinx High School Choir

Sunday, April 6, 2008, 4 p.m.

Where:  

Winifred Moore Auditorium, Webster University, 470 E. Lockwood Ave.

Cost:           

$5 at the door, students free with valid identification
