Webster University’s Holden Public Policy Forum will host a panel discussion on the Middle East, Monday, March 3rd, at 6:30 p.m. at Webster’s downtown Old Post Office Building campus at 815 Olive. The panel will include Russ Carnahan, Mo. Congressman, 3rd Dist.; Lee Hamilton, president and director of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars; and political science professors Tahmineh Entessar from Webster University and Jean-Robert Leguey-Feilleux from St. Louis University.

The Middle East panel, which is part of the “Issues for the 21st Century” series, will discuss issues ranging from Iran setting the tone for future Middle East policy, the anatomy of a terrorist, new diplomacy and war as an unfortunate alternative.

Congressman Carnahan serves as the vice chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee's Subcommittee on International Organizations, Human Rights and Oversight.  Lee Hamilton, in addition to serving as president and director of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, served as co-chair of the Iraq Study Group.  He is currently a member of the President's Homeland Security Advisory Council.  Professor Jean-Robert Leguey-Feilleux, Ph.D., St. Louis University, is a nationally recognized observer of the Middle East and an expert on terrorism with areas of expertise in Arab/Israeli relations and settlement, Iraq crisis and the United Nations.  Professor Tahmineh Entessar, Ph.D., Webster University, originally from Iran, is the assistant director of the International Relations Graduate Program and her areas of expertise include Middle Eastern politics, Third World politics and foreign politics.
