Energy and Electricity Expert to Speak at Webster University March 4

Energy and electricity expert Jason Makansi will discuss his book Lights Out; The Electricity Crisis, the Global Economy, and What It Means to You (Wiley Press, 2007) as part of the Webster University Holden Public Policy Forum's “Issues in the 21st Century” speaker series, Tuesday, March 4th  at 5:30 p.m. at the Webster University downtown campus in the Old Post Office Building. The event is free and open to the public.

Makansi is president of Pearl Street, Inc., a consulting firm serving the electricity industry; principal of PS Liquidity Advisors, an advisory service for energy technology companies raising capital; and executive director of the Energy Storage Council, a public-policy advocacy organization.

Mr. Makansi, a sought-after speaker and an expert in the area of energy and electricity, has appeared on CNBC, TheStreet.com, the Financial News Network, and the History Channel production of Modern Marvels on power plants as well as being interviewed several times on NPR. He has been interviewed for The New York Times, Newsweek and CFO magazine and has had articles published in Business Week, Power magazine, Electric Power International, Global Energy Business, Electrical World, Power Engineering, Combined Cycle Journal, IEEE Spectrum, and others.
