Webster University Receives Prestigious Award from Regional Commerce and Growth Association
Webster University received the 2007 Greater St. Louis Top 50 Award from the St. Louis Regional Chamber & Growth Association (RCGA), in collaboration with the St. Louis office of Deloitte. Webster was profiled in the December issue of “St. Louis Commerce Magazine.” The award recognizes companies and non-profit institutions and organizations for their overall success and their ability to positively affect the future of the business community. Criteria included growth in the number of employees, enhancement of the community, revenue growth and expansion/development of facilities.
“Webster University is fundamental to the economic life of our region,” said Jerry Ritter, member of the Webster University Board of Trustees. So many of our students are from St. Louis. They are educated here and they spend their lives as productive members of our community. Webster students and graduates are your co-workers, friends and neighbors.”
Webster University President Richard S. Meyers added, “I hope St. Louisans realize that 75% of Webster’s graduates who come from St. Louis stay in St. Louis after graduating.” “I’m certainly not shy about telling the community that what works for Webster University is what works for the economic engine in St. Louis and around the world,” he said.
The Top 50 awards, which are presented annually by RCGA, were co-sponsored by Edward Jones, Southwest Bank, KETC-TV Channel 9, KMOX News/Talk 1120, Sigma-Aldrich and “St. Louis Commerce Magazine.”
