Meet the Staff


Dr. Patrick Stack is the director of Counseling and Life Development. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy from Suffolk University in Boston, his M.Div from St. John's School of Theology in Boston, his M.Ed. from the University of Missouri at St. Louis and his D. Min. from Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis.

Dr. Stack has a professional certificate in marriage and family therapy through Washington University, St. Louis, MO. He is a licensed professional counselor (LPC), a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), a nationally certified counselor (NBCC), and holds both clinical and supervisor status in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

Dr. Stack is a certified advanced substance abuse counselor(CASAC) Dr. Stack promotes Wellness as a clinician, author and speaker, and has designed and implemented a Wellness clinical assessment instrument. Dr. Stack also works as a marriage and family therapist in private practice with his wife, Pamela (P.J.) Furrer Stack.

Gladys Smith earned a Bachelor's degree in Health Care Management from Southern Illinois University, a Master's in Health Science from Washington University, St. Louis and a M.Ed in Counseling from the University of Missouri, St. Louis. She is a Certified Advanced Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC), and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). She is Board Certified in Trauma Counseling (BCTC), and is a Sexual Assault Advocate.

Prior to coming to Webster, Gladys worked in substance abuse treatment centers and psychiatric hospitals. She served for 15 years in the United States Navy as a medic and counselor in Subic Bay, Philippines; Keflavic, Iceland; Guam, Hong Kong, Scotland and throughout the United States. She is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho sorority, the Coalition of 100 Black Women, Chi Sigma Iota, the American Business Women's Association and is an instructor for the American Red Cross, American Lung Association and American Heart Association.

Gladys also serves as the staff advisor for Peer Education Zeitgeist (PEZ), a student organization promoting Wellness, AOD education and prevention and responsible lifestyle choices. Jillian Pietrzak is a graduate student at Washington University in St. Louis seeking her Master's degree in Social Work. She is serving as a Social Work Intern under the supervision of Dr. Patrick Stack. Jillian has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana. She has experience working with children and adolescents, and doing case management with adults in previous settings.

Emily Ehrhart is a graduate student at Webster University working towards her Master of Arts in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Counseling. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Saint Louis University.

Emily has provided counseling services to individuals and couples. She has experience in the non-profit sector working with developmentally delayed children and adults. Additionally, she has worked with community coalitions as a Prevention Specialist. She is currently a student member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

Mark West is a graduate student at Mc Kendree University in Lebanon, Illinois and will be graduating with a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling in May 2009. He earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. he is currently serving as Counseling Intern at Webster, under the direct supervision of Dr. Patrick Stack.

Mark has experience working with both adolescents and adults with developmental disabilities. His interests, as related to the counseling profession, include spirituality and identity development, anxiety and depression management, and addressing substance abuse concerns.
