   • Hellenizing Jew, contemporary of Jesus
   • tried to ratinalize Genesis account of creation with Platonic philosophy

3. Plotinus (205-270 C.E.)
   • One=Being=good
   • out of superabundance (overflow) emanation/creation (what in logic might be termed "ramification")
   • the first emanation: Mind (NOUS)

4. Proclus (410-485 C.E.)
